The intern in this area will help with a variety of YAP projects related to strategic partner management and business development. Working closely with the team that manages YAP partnerships with state and local community based, municipal organizations and private foundations, the intern will be responsible for researching trends in global philanthropy and corporate social responsibility, and finding practical applications for this research that fit into the YAP business development strategy. The intern will also work closely with YAPs CEO to develop marketing and other collateral materials that will help YAP tell its story to potential new partners and donors.
The intern will contribute to projects that are both internally and externally facing, and may have the opportunity to have his/her work displayed to public and private partners. This role will require exceptional time management and organizational skills, as well as a willingness to work with many teams inside a large and fast-paced social enterprise. Design, marketing, writing, or research skills are a plus, but no prior experience is required for this role.

Research into potential conferences, speaking engagements, and new ways to spread YAPs message at state and local levels
Develop communications for our corporate cultivation plan, highlighting upcoming engagement opportunities and news about YAP
Working closely with the Program and Volunteer Coordination teams to develop event collateral, sales and other outreach materials to support YAP corporate cultivation development efforts
Conducting interviews, writing and publishing articles and blogs that illustrate YAP’s impact on the youth development and workforce development sectors
Conducting research on the topic of workforce, leadership and youth development, via online resources, phone calls or surveys
Composing a final report that illustrates the results of research study in an engaging and visual way
Must be actively and presently enrolled an accredited college or university at an undergraduate or graduate level.
Social networking and non-profit knowledge preferred.
Design, marketing, strong writing and research skills a plus
General knowledge of global philanthropy a plus
Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Diplomacy and teamwork.
Strong written and oral communication skills are a must
